SUMMARY:Transition Tuesday - Early Choices Matter
DESCRIPTION:For children with intellectual and developmental disability practicing choice-making is especially important because it can lead to a more self-determined life as an adult. This means an adult with connections to the community\, a sense of empowerment and a sense of safety because they know their opinions matter. We have everything you need to start choice-making for your child. \nThis session offers tools and resources to help children and teens with disabilities practice and enhance their choice-making and decision-making skills. \nChoice-making skills can: \n• Empower children to have more control over their lives \n• Improve their own safety \n• Enhance communication and self-advocacy \n• Lead to improved decision making as adults \nSession presented by Family Voices of Wisconsin; hosted via Zoom and in person at DHHS (421 County Road R\, Black River Falls) \nSign-Up: https://forms.office.com/r/UrnzswWESx
