DESCRIPTION:As a community\, we are working to highlight two pertinent issues affecting older adults; elder abuse and Alzheimer’s disease\, which both are recognized nationally in the month of June. \nThis year\, Jackson County will be hosting a “In June\, We Wear Purple” Event on Thursday\, June 1\, 2023 to raise awareness about elder abuse and Alzheimer’s disease. \nJoin us from 11:00am until 1:00pm on June 1\, 2023\, at the Lunda Community Park for a variety of activities including brain health activities\, craft tables\, and light physical activities as well as a free lunch! We are providing the opportunity for you to energize and exercise your brain and body while learning more about Alzheimer’s disease and elder abuse. You will have a chance to win a door prize for participating in our trivia walk and you will receive participation prizes for each activity you engage in at the event! \nIf you would like more information on this event\, please feel free to contact the ADRC of Jackson County at 715-284-3978.
