Women in History
The Annual Jackson County Women in History program is Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Interfaith Volunteers in Black River Falls. This is the 31st year for this program which is held during Women’s History Month and recognizes women in Jackson County who have made significant contributions to their communities and the county.
The 2026 Women in History recipients will be announced at the program and presented with a framed certificate and long-stem rose. Their names are also added to a permanent plaque located in the Jackson County Courthouse. Since the program began in 1996, 153 women have been honored. To qualify, a woman must be a resident of Jackson County, 60 years of age or older, and have made a difference in the community by volunteering.
This year the program is sponsored by Jackson County Aging & Disability Services, Jackson County Interfaith Volunteers, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, and Volunteer Services at Black River Health.
